Elma tells these true stories: one morning there was no milk for breakfast. The girls asked what were they going to do, and Elma answered them that they are always to pray for what they need. And so they did; the girls, Elma - they prayed for the Lord to provide milk. Within the hour a lady was knocking at the door, she found out about the problem, and returned with a van load of milk and other food stuffs. It's the George Mueller story all over again, except in Reynosa instead of England. The same thing happened again, except it was food that was needed this time instead of milk. Elma and the girls prayed; later that morning someone unexpected came with three van loads of food. The good favor of the Lord is resting on this ministry in an undeniable way. Mexican supporters: This is what some local volunteers who raise funds wrote: " We want to let our friends know what we've been doing for the last year, and let you know how deeply we care about this special project. We visit and bring supplies weekly, offer advice, read to the children - or have them read to us, help with their homework - but mostly we just talk to the kids. Just like there is a lot of reasons to end up in an orphanage, there's lots of reasons why we care - about 40 of them. We invite you to help us spread the word about this orphanage. Thanks for listening, Celia, Elaine, Maria, and Rosalie." American supporters: Thank you so very much for keeping us posted regarding the
orphanage and the work Sister Elma is doing in Mexico. Our church has been a part of the summer program for two
years. Our church supports sister by sending $300.00 designated for
Medicine and then we take up an offering each month and send which usually
amounts to 300.+ This we send direct to Sister. We have been a part of sending Christmas
packages for each child
and when we go in July we take a package for each child with underwear,
clothes
and toys. This has been a very rewarding mission for our church to be a
part of. Sister sends us pictures with the children's names ages and sizes
before
we go in July and that helps us prepare a package for each child. We
do the same at Christmas. I am so glad to see that Sister has decided not to have the
mother's and small children in residence upstairs. I have been praying about
that situation. She has wonderful control of the children and they are the most
well behaved children I have ever seen. I have taught Sunday School and Mission Friends (age 3-5) for
more than
50 years.
